Carne Asada Fries

If you have ever dipped a french fry in guacamole, you clearly have good taste in food! If you've dipped a french fry in GUACAMOLE...topped with SOUR CREAM, CHOPPED STEAK and CHEESE, then you're most likely from Southern California...AND have good taste in food!

ALL HAIL CARNE ASADA FRIES!!!

Just LOOK at all that sunny goodness!!! Mi Amor!!!

Today is my birthday...My 41st BIRTHDAY! YIKES! (kidding) I much prefer the 41 year old me to the 21 year old me. I don't really feel the need to explain. Those who have 20 years, (or a few more), under their belt, know what I'm talking about! Life is incredible! And I am so grateful!

That being said, if you know me at all, you knew there wasn't going to be a cake featured today. (Not a cake and frosting kinda girl...) Carne Asada Fries are the only sweet goodness I need! Quite possibly my most favorite food ever! And MOST definitely a Birthday Worthy dish!

Ingredients:
French fries. Homemade or store bought. It's up to you. (I like skinny frozen fries from the store.)
Carne Asada, prepared as directed
Guacamole, prepared as directed (or use your favorite)
Sour cream
Freshly grated cheddar cheese
Freshly chopped cilantro, as garnish (optional)
Directions:
1.) Prepare french fries according to package directions. When finished cooking, stack a few handfuls on center of plate.
2.) Top with a few handfuls of chopped carne asada
3.) Top with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.
(I was out of Cotija Cheese. If you have it, it's awesome!)
4.) Dig in. Sit back. Marvel at the beauty of Carne Asada Fries!
*Amount of ingredients is per preference

P.S. I photographed this dish outside on my patio. To me, it completely captures the essence of Southern California: Warm, Sunny, and always Delicious. Enjoy!

Carne Asada Fries will be participating in these fantastic Link Parties
Pin It!

  5. I have never heard of dipping fries in guacamole let alone sour cream and carne asada, but I do love carne asada and french fries, so why not put them together? I may have to give this a try. Worst case scenario I eat them separately and still have a delicious meal. Happy birthday!

  7. Ok Girl! What are you doing to me, Lol. I love all these ingredients even by themselves but all together, genius. I spent 13 years in Southern California (and my eldest still lives in the LA area) and I crave Carne Asada. You can't find it here. I have got to use your recipe and make me some.
Wow, I am so craving this!
PS Happy Birthday! (yes I even enjoy being 55 way more than 21)
